So lets say the multiverse does exist wouldn't that mean that there is a posibility that there is an infinite number of ourselves around; what do i mean? well let me explain with a comic book 'Crisis on Infinite Earths should help you understand it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crisis_on_Infinite_Earths.
Of course we are not super heroes but its possible that there are alternate versions of ourselves out there in what we call the multiverse.
Why be bothered with this? Well remember the idea of rebirth? what if you are reborn in alternate versions of yourself in different universes or parallel universes? and after passing all the infinite universes do u achieve ping. Now it's not limitd to just rebirth. hell no. heaven and hell can also just be alternate universes. Hinduism mentions the multiverse many times as well.
Still why do we care? Because if it does exist then there is a possability that there an infinite amount of alternate versions of Earths and Us all..
Why care? I don't know.. It's just interesting..
